Since Wirral Pride began in 2022, our community has come together each year in celebration, visibility, and pride. With Forever in Our Pride, we now also come together in remembrance.

Forever in Our Pride is a year-round remembrance project created by Wirral Pride to honour members of the Wirral LGBTQ+ community who are no longer with us. Through this dedicated space, we aim to celebrate lives, preserve memories, and ensure that those who helped shape our community are never forgotten.

Every life remembered here helped shape our community through love, courage, friendship, identity, and pride. Some may have been activists, volunteers, performers, community leaders, or campaigners. Others may simply have been friends, family members, neighbours, colleagues, or loved ones whose presence enriched the lives of those around them. Every story is important, and every life deserves to be remembered.

For many people, Pride represents visibility, celebration, and progress. But Pride is also about recognising our history and remembering those who came before us. The Wirral LGBTQ+ community we know today has been shaped by countless individuals whose lives, experiences, and contributions helped create a stronger and more connected community for future generations.

Forever in Our Pride has been created to preserve those stories and memories. By sharing tributes, photographs, and personal reflections, we can help ensure that the history of the Wirral LGBTQ+ community is not lost and that those who are no longer with us continue to have a place within our shared story.

We invite our community to share the name, story, or memory of a loved one they would like honoured. Whether it is a few words, a photograph, or simply their name, each tribute helps ensure they are remembered and celebrated as part of our community’s history.

While Forever in Our Pride may feature as part of future Wirral Pride events, its purpose extends far beyond a single day of celebration. It is a lasting space for remembrance, reflection, and community connection throughout the year.

As Wirral Pride continues to grow, we believe remembrance is just as important as celebration. Those we have lost remain forever part of our Pride.
